alabama We just happened to be passing through Birmingham on our way to visit Janessa's Grandpa in southern Alabama so we popped in to check out Alabama Adventures. I've never heard anyone else ever talk about this park so I wasn't sure what to expect. We got to the park just as it was opening and found only one of the parking toll booths open. This caused a pretty major backup. It was $10 to park.

The main entrance was nice enough but $30 to get in seemed steep. It does however seem like the going rate for parks this size. The “main street” area that leads towards the rides was impressive. Shops and what not lined the walkway. The only area that didn't impress was the central portion of the park near the large ferris wheel. The spokes off each side of the central hub we're clean and well landscaped.

We went right to Rampage and found a one train wait for the front row (they were only running one train). The ride was a surprise. The drop was great, there were a couple of decent pops of air and it's wasn't very rough. We wanted to try the back and this was a totally different ride. Way more intense but much rougher. Some of the air hills we're actually scary. The jack hammer effect was noticeable in the back row. A small scale refurb might make this an excellent ride. It's still fun as is though.

Next was Zoomerang – It's a boomerang.

We whored ourselves out for the kiddie coaster Marvel Mania.

We attempted to ride the ferris wheel but it got stuck and they couldn't stop it. I didn't feel like risking an afternoon stuck on a ferris wheel.

After that we walked around, took some photos and then hauled ass. We only spent an hour and a half in the park. They offer a nice collection of flat rides but nothing you couldn't find at or near your local park. If you're in the area be sure to stop in but it's probably not worth a special trip.
