Much like last summer, I trekked to Holiday World, Kings Island, and Cedar Point. And, much like last summer, I had a blast. First of all, the report I wrote last year was a novel, so if I don’t cover something here, check last year’s, it will more than likely be in that one. The first park we hit was Holiday World. And it’s still one of the greatest parks around. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm and quality. The free pop is the greatest theme park promotion around. We skipped Raven at first simply to avoid the line and hopped on the Legend. The first drop is nuts, and the first half is outstanding, but it loses speed in the second half, which is basically a never-ending right turn. But the first half of the ride is excellent, and it’s still a great coaster. The Voyage was next, and not much has changed from last summer. It’s still the best ride I could ever imagine. The drops are great and the turnaround is insane, one of my favorite parts of any ride ever. The ride finishes with so much speed. I hope HW continues to take care of this ride, because it’s amazing. The Raven was the final coaster we rode, and it’s great while it lasts. But don’t blink or you’ll miss it. Everything on it is fun, but it seems like just when the ride gets going, it ends. I can see why it’s so appealing, but it’s too short to be great to me. The rest of the day was spent refilling sodas and marathoning coasters. We spent a couple hours in Splashin’ Safari as well. The next day we visited the Corvette factory in Bowling Green, KY (a must for any car enthusiasts, or anyone in general) and hit up Kings’ Island on the way up to Sandusky.
