This was a last minute trip.  The wife and I had some spare vacation time just sitting around so we took it and planned on just relaxing at home.  We have come to realize that we aren’t capable of sitting around during a vacation.  So exactly 4 hours into the relaxing vacation we took a peak at airfare between Kansas City and Cleveland and immediately began planning the trip.  After we secured a flight and a hotel we took a look at the weather and found that we might be fighting some rain.  Since we had already committed ourselves and a little rain wasn’t going to stop us and it actually gave us a reason to use our poncho villains.

24 hours after the vacation began we were in Cleveland and driving towards Sandusky.

Our longest wait was for any ride was right around an hour on Monday and this was for the newest addition, MaxAir.  Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster also had waits that were close to an hour.  There were several walk-ons throughout the park so we were able to ride most of the rides in a short amount of time and when we felt like slowing down we would just hit one of the big rides and take a break while waiting in line.

Tuesday morning we made use of the early entrance pass that we got from Breakers Express and this allowed us to ride Top Thrill Dragster 3 times and Millennium Force twice before the park even opened.  Between 10am and noon we were able to ride both of those rides again while also riding Raptor twice and Wicked Twister.  The rest of the day was devoted to a leisurely walk around the park taking pictures and riding rides that we usually just blow past. There were a few spotty showers here and there as the day went on but our trusty poncho villains kept us dry.  The rain also kept the crowds down and we really didn't have to wait any more than 20 minutes for even anything.  This was the first time that we got tired of riding and left the park early.  We thought that if we stayed it might tarnish our opinions of some of the rides.

I would usually suggest avoiding Cedar Point in May because of all the school activities but this was a successful trip and you might get lucky and experience similar results.
