If you’re a fish fan then you’ll probably be a Sea World fan.  If you’re a coaster fan then you’re probably going to be a bit on the bored side like we were.  We happen to be at the park with a fish fan and even he seemed a little on the bored side but that’s probably because we only gave him about 2 hours to see the entire park.  We didn’t see any shows and we’ve heard that this is where the fun is.  Instead we opted for the beer garden where free beer flows like water and the full day of walking in swamp like conditions makes for a quick buzz.  Silliness ensued shortly after our trip to the beer garden and our photography skills quickly diminished.

The park is clean and attractive and does offer some interesting fish exhibits.  My favorite was the dolphin area (I know that they’re a mammal so please keep your fish loving comments to yourself ;).  I was actually able to touch one of the dolphins and I can tell you that they feel like a wet dry erase board.  I also touched a bunch of sting rays and they feel like a dolphin expect that they’re squishy while dolphins seem a tad more muscular.  The others that stood out were the arctic exhibit where they housed a walrus and a beluga whale along with the pre-show killer whale warm up tank.  The killer whale seemed a little nervous right before it’s show and it paced around in it’s tank.

Coaster Ratings

Kraken:  7 out of 10

This was the only true thrill machine in the park and it was a hit in my opinion.  It’s a floorless coaster that features nice height and speed and like most of the Florida coasters it makes good use of the terrain.  Kraken travels below ground level a handful of times and this always provides an extra boost of excitement for me.

Journey to Atlantis:  5 out of 10

This is a boat/coaster/dark ride and it’s well themed.  The special effects don’t compare with some of the other local parks but the ride is plenty fun and even has a few surprises along the way one of which is the long length of the ride.  This is a good option for the whole family even though it makes small children cry.
