ImageI've been to SFoG dozens of times in my life (it’s my home park because I live less than an hour away) and this trip was unlike any other.  It was the annual UGA night at SFoG so since I'm a student at UGA I took advantage of this opportunity.  The park was open from 6pm to 12 am.  We arrived at the park around 6:15 and headed straight for Goliath.  We waited about 35 minutes for a ride in the front seat and it was worth it.  The first drop was unbelievable and was the best part of the ride in my opinion.  This ride was ridiculously fast.  The 4th hill on Goliath is taller than Georgia Scorcher's lift hill!  The helix was awesome because the train was totally side ways as it went around the turns.  Every hill I came up out of my seat.  Overall this is definitely a coaster that you must ride if you visit SFoG.  It's definitely the smoothest coaster in the park.  I felt like I was riding on air.

After Goliath we headed towards Gotham City for a ride on the Mindbender and only waited about 10 min.  A classic coaster that’s very fun with lots of speed and excitement.  Afterwards we headed over to Batman.  The wait was about 30 minutes.  Batman is all about speed, turns, and inversions because that’s all it is after you finish the first drop.  After Batman we headed over to the Scream Machine on the way we stopped by Goliath and it was at least an hour wait so we were glad we rode it early.  The line at the Scream Machine was about 10 minutes and it's defiantly one of the classic coasters in the park.  It’s an out and back woody that’s very enjoyable and still smooth despite the fact its 30 years old.

After the Scream Machine we headed towards Superman Ultimate Flight.  Once we reached the entrance we noticed that the train was stuck on the break platform and that the ride was going to be closed for a while.  So we left Superman and headed to the other side of the park.  We didn’t ride the Ninja rollercoaster because the line was too long in our opinion, plus we had ridden it several times in the past so we skipped it although it does have a new paint job and looks great.  Instead of the track being white and red like it used to be it is now black and red.  We skipped Deja Vu because the line was a 2+ hour wait and it has a reputation of breaking down every few minutes.  Although I have ridden it a few times it's a great ride, but not worth a 2 hour wait.  We headed towards the Mine Train which is the smallest coaster in the park but enjoyable.  We rode it twice in the front seat without getting up! No line at all.  The Mine Train is more of a family coaster and doesn’t go more than 30 or 35 mph.

Next we headed to Acrophobia and as soon as we got in line they announced that the ride would be closed due to inclement weather in the area.  So we headed to the Georgia Cyclone.  The wait was only about 5 minutes.  We were in line for the next train and they announced that it would be closing as well due to the weather.  It was lightning pretty bad at this point.  About 10 minutes later there was some heavy raining and thunder and lightning.  The park was only going to be open another hour so we waited under cover for about 30 min and headed to the exit.  At the exit they were giving everyone free tickets because the weather had forced them to close all the rides an hour before close.  So we got our free tickets and headed home.  Overall it was a good trip and the free tickets were awesome.  Goliath was definitely the highlight of the trip and I will return to the park later on this summer.
