Knott’s Berry Farm is a great little park that really packs a lot of rides into a small area.  It’s plopped down right in the middle of a busy suburb of Los Angeles but you wouldn’t know it once you’re in the park.  The plusses that really stand out to me are the fact that it’s always very clean and the staff really knows how to work a crowd.  Another major plus is being able to walk right in with a Worlds of Fun season pass (if you're going to travel from park to park a Cedar Fair season pass is a must). The parks themed areas are really vibrant and rides in each area definitely fit.  I personally found Fiesta Village to be the most attractive area.   I haven’t eaten much of the food so I won’t comment on the quality.  You should be able to conquer the park in a day or less.

Coasters

Xcelerator:  7 out of 10
This was my first rocket coaster and I loved it.  The intensity of the launch is really surprising the first time and really nerve racking each time after that.  I’m usually a fan of the seat near the back of the train but this is one of the few rides that the front is better.  The near vertical drop coming off of the top hat provides an interesting view to those in the front row.  The rides theming was another bonus.  The trains were made up to look like 50’s style hot rods.

Silver Bullet: 7 out of 10
Silver Bullet is an interesting invert.  It’s fairly tall but the drop isn’t all that long.  This is probably due to it’s placement in the middle of the park, which puts it right on top of Jaguar!.  It’s upside includes it’s placement over water, the overbanked curve after the loop and it has one of the best cobra rolls out there.  On the down side it lacks intensity and the undersized first drop keeps the speed down.

Ghostrider:  7 out of 10
I don’t usually re-ride wooden coasters even though I’ll ride everything once but this one requires multiple rides.  It’s about the perfect height and length and pulls just about the right amount of g-forces.  It might be a little rough for flimsy people though (I’m big and tough so this doesn’t apply to me, ha!).  Either way this is one of my favorite wood coasters.

Jaguar!:  4 out 10
Being that I’m so big and tough it’s hard for me to fit into little trains like the one’s on Jaguar!.  The ride itself is fine and I would definitely recommend it for families but tall people will need to be aware of the small cars.  Again the theming was top notch.

Montezooma's Revenge:  3 out of 10
Revenge is a great word for this coaster.  Once again my size is used against me and I’m betting that this was Montezooma’s plan the whole time.  My knees were plastered to the back of the seats in front of me and the launching and braking made me realize that more room is necessary in order to avoid bruising.  You have to ride everything at least once and if you’re shorter than 6’ 4” you’ll probably like it.

Every Other Ride
Keep in mind that I don’t usually like to spin or get soaking wet so this selection of rides doesn’t include everything the park has to offer and they are rated on a scale that is separate from the coaster list.

Supreme Scream:  9 out of 10
The S&S drop towers are great rides and we never pass up an opportunity to ride them.  I still find clicking into place at the top of the tower to be the scariest part of the ride.  The drop freaks my wife out and she’s even been known to claw me on the way down.  She still loves them though.

Timber Mountain Log Ride:  8 out of 10
It will be hard for any other log ride to reach 8 out of 10.  For some reason this one just does it for me and I make sure that I ride it at least twice when I visit Knott’s.

Screamin' Swing: 7 out of 10
This was an upcharge ride last time we were there but at $5 a person it was worth it.  It’s an oversized air powered swing that takes rides high into the air.  It’s intense and it causes laughing.

La Revolucion: 7 out 10
This ride positions 32 riders in circular formation all facing inward and situated in suspended seats.  The circular formation dangles like a large pendulum and swings to a point where riders are almost upside down.  It also turns at a leisurely pace during the swinging.  This type of ride has been popping up all over the country and I can’t get enough of them.  It’s a blast!

Wave Swinger:  6 out of 10
This is another type of ride that I get a major kick out of.  Swinging around in a lawn chair just seems to make me giggle.  I would also recommend this one to the whole family.

Calico Mine Ride:  5 out of 10
This is a nice relaxing ride through a themed mountain.  It’s a pleasant break from the heat and walking that the rest of the day dumps on you.  I’ve always been a sucker for slow moving dark rides.

Sky Cabin: 3 out of 10
This is an observation tower and is only good for relaxing and taking a look around.
