MantaEvery year is a big year for roller coasters. Some new, thrilling, and exciting ride or roller coaster always opens up it seems. Well in the year of 2009 a new unique coaster came out. SeaWorld Orlando built a brand new B&M Flyer named Manta.

And what a ride Manta is. It's fun from the moment you enter the queue all the way to the end of the ride. The Manta experience starts as soon as you enter the queue.  Upon entering guests are immersed into an amazing underwater themed queue that looks absolutely stunning.  It's a lot of fun when you are able to see fish and Manta Rays swimming by while you're waiting in line.

Manta starts in the station where you assume the flying position. After assuming the flying position it's time to head up the 140' lift hill. After reaching the top of the lift hill the train speeds down the 113' drop.  Manta quickly comes up from the drop only to dive down into the Pretzel Loop inversion. The Manta Ray themed train then heads back up as it exits the Pretzel Loop Inversion. Next up is a turn into an in-line twist inversion that heads into a banked turn to the right. The ride dips down again and heads up into another inversion, a flat spin corkscrew. Then it's time for the mid course brake run.

After the mid course the train dives into one of the best parts of the entire Manta ride, the water splash.  Picking up speed as it drops the train seems to barely miss the water.  Water jets simulate a wing dip and spray as the train passes.  The ride then fly’s back up past a waterfall and into another flat spin corkscrew.  After a quick dip down it's into the final brakes.

This ride is a great addition to SeaWorld Orlando. It has a phenomenal layout and theme as well. Manta truly is one amazing ride. The ride looks great and lived up to all of my expectations and even exceeded them. It's definitely a must ride and what makes Manta even more impressive is that it's the state of Florida's first Flying roller coaster. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. The wing dip and the pretzel loop are surely the best parts of the ride but truly the whole ride itself is perfect. It's a great roller coaster and SeaWorld Orlando did a great job on Manta.
