Schlitterbahn Vacation VillageBack in October of 2008 I took a tour of the construction site.  At that time the only major projects that had be done was the pouring of most of the conrete for the Torrent Tidal Wave attraction, and the installation of a large portion of the plumbing system.  Since the latter was already buried, there wasn't a lot to see. Flash forward 6 months and the site has changed drastically.  A lot of the dirt moving and leveling has been completed, there are concrete footers for some of the water slides (which should go vertical any day now), the concrete for Henry's Hideout (an adult hot tub with a swim-up bar) has been poured, and some of the play equipment has been installed in a few of the kiddie pools.

In addition to seeing some of the attractions in place, this tour gave me some perspective on how large the development is.  The Phase I development that will open sometime in June, is much larger than I expected.  When the entire development is completed in the next couple of years there won't be any attraction in the region that rivals it in regards to the amount of things there will be to see and do.  In some regards, it reminds me of Downtown Disney or CityWalk with a massive waterpark attached to it.

Finally, I want to give a big Thank You to Chris Ozimek, Marketing Director for taking the time out of his schedule to give myself, and Jason Hazel a tour of the site.
