I love the theme, the layout, basically the whole thing! This drop into a nice banked turn is insane. The amount of airtime is just crazy. I need to make it out to Dominion sometime now. I don't even care about the restraints. I love height and the fact that it's going to be in the top ten maybe I believe top 5 tallest coasters in the world is awesome.

I took a closer look at the site and I'm 99% sure that it's PP type restraints.

Here's the bit I'm talking about

GAWD I hate the color!

How many TREES are they taking out for this eyesore?

This is just an irresponsible use of steel and bolts at time in our nations history when the automakers are struggling.

Not to mention the slap in the face this is to the cultural heritage of the indigenous Pygmy people of Turkey.  (don't know what I'm talking about? try Google)

WOW that's all I can say. I am pretty sure my mouth dropped when I saw this bad boy. I am so excited about this, not only because of the fact they are getting a coaster but I was really afraid during the rough economy we would not see a coaster like this in some time. I guess now I see why the lift peices have the double spin. That think just looks mean. Boy I know were I am heading too next summer.

It doesn't look that great to me, the first drop looks awesome yeah, but the rest doesn't seem to great. But I guess I need to ride it to see.  They could have done much better with that amount of money.

I was wondering why they needed such wierd track for this ride and I bet ya it's to handle how much speed and force is going to be put on the track. This train is just going to fly through the course.

Well the only real different track is the lift hill and see there is only TWO supports for 305 feet height. The track is gonna be load bearing. Compare this lift hill structure to MF, and you will get a good idea why the lift track is so beefy. And as far as greatness of the lay out, keep in mind the videos did no justice for prowler, in fact to me the videos made the prowler look slow, but in reality was so different. Take the speed with the lay out you are looking at one hell of a coaster.

Even look at the supports for the second hill.  I was thinking the same thing, on the beefed up track.  I have already started planning my trip!!  :sunny:

I really doubt that, tbqh.  I bet they just say that because Intamin OTSRs are essentially just lap bars with (high) shoulder components. Thus, overhead lab bar. But maybe. That would be really awesome if the restraints were like PP's. But like I said, every other visual cue points to normal Intamin OTSRs. They would have changed it for the videos and photos if they were going to use different restraints.

It sounds like the restraints might be more like Pilgrims Plunge and less like Maverick.  If that's the case then this is 100% win!

Keith said that everyone he talked to at Cedar Fair had said it would be OTSR like Maverick and then the press release said none, he was a little surprised himself from what we were told.

Pilgrim's Plunge style would work great... cannot wait to ride this next year.

This looks fun but I am a little underwhelmed with the Layout. I will reserve judgment until I ride it sometime down the road.

I like that it is low to the ground and built for speed however if they wanted just straight speed they should of just taken down Kingda Ka's record and built another one of those but over 500ft? 130mph?

The low stuff seems kinda blah to me. The only turn that looks somewhat fun is the one right out of the first drop.

Though with that speed I can not wait until those hills at the end.

In the end I am super excited for this ride and hope it knocks my socks off. Next CF Giga at WOF Please???!!!

Keith McVeen is an animator. He created the video for the coaster, as well as the Prowler and Patriot videos for Worlds of Fun. Chances are, if you see an official animation of an amusement park ride, it was done by him. Some cheaper animations were doing hastily in NoLimits by, most of the time, the parks themselves.

^^In other words, we should trust him. KD wouldn't have let him get away with putting in normal OTSRs if that isn't what they were going to be. I mean he freaking animated Anaconda to go with it. This was one of the (if not the) most detailed animations I've ever seen. It would be incongruous for the OTSRs to be wrong when everything else is spot-on. As far as the text description, if you think about those normal OTSRs, they really aren't shoulder harnesses in the traditional sense (i.e. they aren't Vekoma horsecollars or B&M OTSRs or even Intamin OTSRs a la Steel Venom). A classic shoulder harness is basically a U shape that comes down over your chest and may or may not buckle to the seat somewhere. Intamins new OTSRs are more like lap bars that come down over your shoulders (hence "overhead lap bar"). They were designed (I think) to fit larger guests who have problems on MF and S:RoS. We think of them as OTSRs, because that's technically what they are - over-the-shoulder restraints. But I can completely see why they wouldn't describe them that way.

Not sure what to think.  I'm pretty luke-warm on this one.  There will be nice air-time, but some of those turns look like they will be of the neck-snapping headache inducing vairety.

looks like carrowinds could be intimidator themed to "New roller coasters at two amusement parks — Kings Dominion in Doswell, Va., and Carowinds in Charlotte — will debut next year with Dale Earnhardt marks as part of a unique licensing agreement with Dale Earnhardt Inc (DEI)."

I'm gonna have to agree with you. It IS a pretty pricey coaster for what King's Dominion is getting. But then again, I have no idea how much the average coaster costs.

It cost $25 million to build Millennium Force in 2000, since then the price of steel has sky rocketed. So this price probably isn't too bad. Makes me think Intamin gave them a discount, possibly for a multi-ride contract?

^The other one for Cedar Point, I assume. If so, then wow, it might actually be an Aquatrax. But Intamin has flume models too, yes?

I am glad we have Brandon as our PR guy here at wof .  He kept us updated all the time.  Looking back at the blogs during Prowlers construction he was posting once to three times every week.  I am really dissappointed in KI and CW because they have awesome coasters they are getting and they aint showing anything!   :cussing:  They are doing alot of work and putting up alot of steel and I get to deal with KI's crappy camera (I do like CW camera! headbang)  All in all I'm glad we have Brandon, he really understands the people!

^That really is a good point.  The access we all had to Prowler during construction would have never happened without Brandon and I think that makes Prowler an even more special ride for all of us.

Hey let's not forget that Brandon pretty much told us that these coasters (KD & KI) were coming in 2010 -- remember him saying that something big was coming to two more Paramount parks in 2010 at Coaster Christmas 2008.
