What an outstanding recreation of the Orient Express!  You should be very proud of your work.  Can't wait to see what it looks like when you are finished.

Well I should post another update then...

I anticipated getting a good chuck of the exit/entrance plaza done today, but as I started work I got hit with the "XP Internet Security 2010" virus...great. So I had to spend the day fixing that problem instead.

I did get a good amount of work done this week however. The entrance ramp is done, handrails and all. I also started work on the "Chicken Exit" and parking lot.

Entrance ramp and station.

Station entrance and loops.

Transfer track and under-station staging.

Helix from entrance ramp.

A parting shot from the parking lot.

That was a great ride back in the day.  I wonder if it would suck as bad as the other Arrows if it was still around.  I rode the one at King's Island a couple of years back and it was terrible.  I don't remember Orient being that painful.

Aw, Vortex isn't that bad. Last summer I thought it was as smooth as it's ever been. KI Maintenance has been replacing rail over the past few years, and that seems to help things out. I would imagine the cross ties are replaced when they need to be...wouldn't want another OE accident now would we?

The picture of the station your missing something, the giant mural's on the exit wall. Other than that it looks like a spittin' image of OE, great job!

The control booth was elevated too and was black paneling.  You had to climb some stairs there near the exit to access the control booth.

I havn't metnioned thius, but I do believe taht the logo on the front of the train has always been gold colored. The 1980 Brochure and some older photos show it that way. I know the side stripe is correct execpt for some limitations to the NL Programing making the WoF Type Backwards on one side. You can always do the later version and give it a gold stripe if you want but the color is still correct for the older version. Also if your going for the older style you need to make the Round Supports Black in Color as they were black back then also.

Red supports circa 1981:

I remember seeing somewhere that the logo was silver, I'll do some digging to find that photo.

Aytrane,
I will be doing a blog update in a few weeks that will have several photos of the station, so that will probably be helpful.

Also if you see my youtube video (its under my Extremeroller user ID) it has some video of the queue line and inside the station too. Here you go:  http://www.worldsoffun.org/multimedia/oevideo.htm

Neat Video.  Brings back  memories.  I remember when I rode that I always had to ride on the ride side because it terrified me not to have the railing in case the coaster got stuck on the lift hill.  And to be honest the same still kind of applies on Mamba  :binkybaby:

Alright, I need an opinion here. I was going through my photo archive of the OE, and came across a few interesting photos. It seems that either the OE had two different logo schemes on each train, or the light is just playing tricks on me.

All silver logo:

Silver mask with yellow eyes and lettering:

I like the straight silver a lot, but I'm trying to get the yellow right for the other train. Time to play with the hue and see what it gets me (Who says you can't turn Silver into Gold?)

Thank You for the pics, That was a beautiful logo and it was better than the Keller Era Gold Logo all the way. I didn't ride OE as much when it had the older logo so I didn't remember it as much, I was smaller then.

GREAT video, I am impressed, especially in the detail.

I have to say though the best part was the end where you faded from the express being there, to it not.

Its amazing to me that after so many years I still sometimes expect it to still be there.
