It's still a mystery just how those riverfront rascals, Tom Sawyer and his sidekick Huckleberry Finn, got lost on the mighty Mississippi. But this past summer, that's exactly what happened. And much to their astonishment, their unexpected detour up the White River landed them at Silver Dollar City!

The pair was desperate to repair their raft and get back home to Hannibal, when they stumbled upon an abandoned paddle wheel operation. In no time, Tom had hatched a plan to make a little money and a whole lot of mischief.

Drawn by fantastic stories of majestic steamship tours, folks have come from far and wide to take the trip of a lifetime. There's just one hitch - there's not a grand sailing vessel in sight! Instead, Tom and Huck will take you on a REAL river adventure!

Passengers and spectators alike are armed with super soaker water guns, waging an all-out water war! Take aim against aqua-armed adversaries and targets all along the action-packed waterway. But watch out, they may shoot back! It's America's Biggest Water Battle - only at Silver Dollar City!

Seems an awful lot of money for a ride that can do at most 750 people per hour. Looks like it could be fun though.

yeah, but Prowler only puts through 880 on a good day, and it was $8m (although, it IS a coaster.)  I'm sure it will be real successfull for SDC, now when is WOF gonna get a nice family attraction like this (or maybe update some of the ones they have!)

I'd be OK with a family ride I just wouldn't want one that drenches me.

A dark ride shooter would be my top choice for a family addition.

It's a definite crowd pleaser. I don't know why, but apparently every addition so far has been a wild success.

I hate to see Tom Sawyer's Landing go, but at least this will be a worthy replacement.

Too bad it's another one of those additions I'll probably do once this summer, then never go near again. The good news is that this allows Splash Harbor to be taken out, so something big is possibly coming to that back corner of the park in 2011.

That's an interesting theory.  Is it just employee parking and admin building back behind Splash Harbor though?

Of course I'm only looking at this with an eye on where the next coaster would go.  :angel4:

It would be perfect for a Mystery Mine clone to go there -- just think how menacing it would look from across Lake Silver.  AND it would cut down on a lot of outside themeing since most of it would go up and over the train tracks and back behind the Waterboggan

I hope you're wrong.

I think that a wood coaster is need even more so, now that Wildcat's trains have left.

Mystery Mine is a fun ride with the exception of the outside across the tressle part.  After the 2nd lift is amazing

I just want to chime in this debate, I haven't ridden MM but I did enjoy Spongebob at MoA, I'd totally love to see something like that at SDC.

That said, I'd take a GCII over that every day of the week...

If it's gonna be steel let it be B&M please. Sure Wildfire looks to be a great B&M but imagine if they had two good B&M's, that'd be awesome if ya ask me.

But I agree as well with Wildcat looking to be done for. Wood would be good for that area of Missouri!

Tough

Wood is good!

That's what she said.

While I like GCII wooden coasters, and I love Thunderhead, I don't care for how they'd stick out like a sore thumb at this park.  Part of the charm is how the rides are hidden for the most part from the main midways.  Hiding a wooden coaster will be next to impossible.

I'd love a woodie over a G-Fighter, but I think now is the time that they'll choose to go with a showier attraction. PK and TNT fill the nitch that a wooden coaster would fall into pretty well. Adding a high dollar attraction will make them seem more in line with Disney and the bigger destination parks, whereas people are used to seeing any old amusement park add woodie's. It's about time for something really big from the park.

In another 6 years or so though, there's that valley behind TGS in between the tracks and the maintainence area that could house a wicked woodie.

^No the woodie would go to the west of the Homestead area and down over the hill in a new area.

The park needs something different...it already has two/three sitdown steel coasters (Thunderation is 1/2 & 1/2 imho), a great dark ride/coaster, tons of family attractions..I don't know, the park needs something thats just gonna blow the socks off of everyone.  While I would love to see a nicely themed Gerstlauer, I think that a great wooden coaster would be awesome at the park.  Now who should build it, GCII or GG.  My vote is for GCII after having experienced them both as a guest and employee.

Can you show us on a map?  I took a look at a overhead shot and I have no idea where you're talking about.

I think he's talking about the left side of the park when you come in... I guess between Wildfire and the parking lot.

There's a big portion of the cave right there though, that's why nothing has been built there yet. I don't know if they can circle around it or not.

Hey, if anyone goes to OTC this year, be sure to take some photos of the construction! There's more to this than just the Splash Battle. The entire fort from Tom Sawyers landing will presumably be transformed.

I think the results of the polls are pretty clear that most people want a Eruo-Fighter dark ride.
