Nice RR update.  That area is really coming together.

As for the mystery coaster it has approximately 25 bents and a quick look at Troy shows a similar number.  What ever it is it's got a big lift.

Hmm, the more I look at it, the more I think this isn't a real project, but rather a training project for them or something. I just don't see them releasing the plans for a big project like this so early, unless it's way overseas.

In SDC news though, TONS of work is going on around the park. A great photo update can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30708145@N02/sets/72157623418703266/

Streets have been ripped up, buildings refurbished, FITH has been refurbished, new water lines and such everwhere. Obviously the park is being really perked up for its 50th celebration, and is being poised to grow extensively in the future.

Well that Photo update answers the Question about Waterboggon and Splash Harbor. Now back on the 2011 speculation on what it's gonna be.

Darn, I was looking forward to a terrain GCI woodie at SDC. I heard a rumor today that some rides from Celebration City could be coming into SDC, anyone else hear this?

Isn't this subject more of along the lines of SDC 2011? Anyways SDC posted photos of Fire in The Hole and I noticed on the comments SDC said something about they cleaned up the scenes and included more thrills for the up coming season. I would of quoted them but they deleted the comment, what you guys think something to look forward to or is it something they do every off season?

Well they have cleaned up scenes in FitH including moving around some of the baldknobbers, giving them new clothes and some scenes new paint.

As far as the new thrills, they are referring to River Blast!

There was indeed quite a refurbishment of FITH this off-season, it seems. You can see some photos of it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30708145@N02/4351492892/#in/set-72157623418703266/

I hadn't noticed until now, but it looks like they took out the fireman's office and might be re-routing the queue through there...

By the way, the new GCII rendering? Almost surely a conceptual/practice/mess-with-the-enthusiasts project, not related to SDC at all.

I was thinking that, I just thought it was fishy that they deleted the comment. I guess I was kind of hoping they would bring back the scenes they cut out  :(

Is this what you are talking about?

It's always been open (well for a long time now at least) - the Trailblazer passes go through there now.

Someone asked the same question on their FB page and they replied with,

"The majority of that area has been converted to maintenance and the reason that those scenes were cut was to increase ride capacity, so probably not. Two scenes were cut, the Baldknobber Cave and the Cliff. In the cave Baldknobbers were barricaded behind wagons and shooting at you while you road past and the cliff gave you the elusion you were going to fall off a hill."

^I believe that was in reference to a question about the old postcards. Those scenes have long been removed, I think.

And yeah, Swoosh, that was what I was referring to. I see it better now, looks like the office is still there. Still, are they just repainting, or are they going to thread a queue through there? Maybe they'll officially install a Trailblazer queue?

I found the answer from a question on the album it self, and they said the scenes were removed back in '82.

Well since poor Buckets passed away, they can use the area that she was in as the holding corral for the Trailblazer Passes.  They just need to add some queue from the door to that holding area.

Personally I'd like them to add some more queue inside in that area as well to help with the lines outside, but who knows if we'll see that happen.  If I had to guess, they are probably just doing touch up painting from regular wear and tear

I really liked Buckets.

As did Missy and I.  I really felt bad for Jess when she passed away.
Last I talked to him, he said that he wasn't going to get another one.  I hope that he can pull through his grievance and get another one.  It's just not FitH without Buckets.

So the question now is the GCI rumor from a couple of months back for SDC still a possibility?

Buckets was the Dalmatian

Yes, just not the NEXT coaster that will be added

Interesting.  So they've planned out two coasters ahead?  What's the first one?  And please don't say Euro-fighter.  :nono:

Well I don't know personally how far out they have things planned, this is just what I was told by numerous sources who tend to be spot on with things dealing with SDC.

As far as the next one, yes it is supposed to be a Euro-fighter.  Sorry I know you don't like them, but the crowds eat them up.

I certainly don't have to like everything that a park installs.  Kiddie crap is wasted on me as well.

Who knows it might be better than the two that I've ridden.  :dunno:

^^Well I love Sponge Bob at NU, but only like bits and pieces of Mystery Mine.  Not a huge fan of the outside portion that goes across the tressle and back, basically between the two lift hills, but I love that last sequence after the final lift hill and I like the setup going into the first lift

I've never seen a Dalmatian before at fitH, of course I haven't been since spring 05'.

A Euro-fighter would probably be best choice for SDC since it has gotten great reviews. I just hope it has more inversions and more indoor scenes than Mystry Mine.

And speaking of Sponge Bob he'll be at the park with Patrick in June I believe.

There are a few new shots on the SDC Facebook page.

Ya I'm amazed to at those Dryers at how many parks have decided to take them. I like the idea because it helps a lot. Walking around soaking wet after a good water ride gets annoying after awhile.
