I will most likely be there... Was supposed to have a scrimmage this week but our field is being worked on so it got canceled. Also not scheduled to work! Will probably be there towards the end of the day. My friend has yet to ride Prowler at night! Don't ask me how. He works there!

You knaow that I am gonna be there. But I don't have a tent or bag for the campout and it doesn't look like you can sleep in your car, Besides the fact that I am stuck at work during the check in time.

The forecast looks ideal for the weekend.

I can't believe how green the trees are already.  The trees in my yard are probably 3 to 4 weeks ahead of schedule.

The news was up at the park this morning and they had 470 campers.

And not a single person got mugged.  :angel4:

Think WoF needs to give that desk jockey a ticket so she can see the park has changed a bit in 10 years. ;)

Nope, no one got mugged but there was something that went down. It was about 10:30pm and we were walking towards the parking lot when we saw a hand full of rangers running at full speed towards the park and then out of no where a group of colored chicks stamped towards are way screaming "He's got a gun!". Scary? Yes, but it was fun watching 10 cops beat down a single guy. Any one else know more about this? I only got to stay to see one guy get arrested then they began to evacuate the area.

I made it up late in the day on Sunday.

It was busier than I thought it would be.  Prowler was unbelievably awesome.  The burgers at the junk yard place over by Prowler are really good.  Mamba's line took forever but it was still fun.  Timber Wolf isn't fun.  Detonator is.  Patriot is worth waiting for the front.  Viking Voyager is a bad idea when it's cool outside and getting colder.

Did anyone else go?

It was a very busy day compared to past years. Beautiful weather probably helped with that. In recent years opening day it has been either snowing or so cold not many of the rides could operate. I rode Timber Wolf and for whatever reason it rode pretty well for me! I rode in the very back too. Kind of surprised me! Oh and Prowler at night is still awesome of course.

I only had time for foot long corn-dog, Prowler (back row) and Mamba (back row).

The foot long corn diggity was a nice surprise.  The wife was nice enough to give half of her foot as well.

Prowler is really kicking ass when compared to the early part of last year.  The most noticeable difference is in the turn around and the part leading up to the double down.  It's really ripping through there.

The first Mamba drop of the year always gets me.

I got talked into working the Music Fest this Saturday.  Feel free to stop by and make fun of me.

I actually don't know for sure.  It sounds like a lot of sitting around and waiting, then setting up for the next group, then sitting around and looking good.

Agreed, Prowler is kicking more ass than last year. You also cant forget about the banked S bend, that seemed more intense than last year.

Speaking of opening day did anyone headed over to Viking Voyager on Saturday? I nearly fell over laughing at this one operator. Nearly every boat that enter the station either hit each other causing them to almost go over the arms that stop them or she waited too long to stop the boats but decided to try to anyways causing them to nose dive into the water. lol

Also anyone else notice that one of TW's trains is MIA?

It's pretty common for TW to start the season with just 1 train.

I thought both the wood coasters were quite out of control on Sunday! Timberwolf didn't use it's trim brake on the first drop, and if I'm not mistaken, the thing wasn't even installed.

Prowler was running very fast this year, I'm wondering if the wood has "settled" so it's okay to run it faster now? We seemed to get to the top of the lift pretty fast too. Maybe they were sending it through the course faster to make up for the one train operation. I highly doubt any of it is true, but you can never be too sure. I for sure noticed the kitty litter stuck to the wheels, making the train bounce a round a bit more than normal. I was a little unhappy to see that someone spilled it on the track and let a train run over it, but what can you do. Replace the wheels and get on with out lives, I guess.

Anyone notice that each of the bents are numbered on Prowler?

I did notice that.  Those were added between my off season visit and opening day because they sure weren't there when we walked over to the maintenance/transfer shed from the station

If you look closely on Timber Wolf's hand railing, you can also see the posts supporting the hand railed are numbered as well (at least they were back when I was working there). I asked one of the carpenters what the numbers are for, and he told me (at least from what I remember) that they are used to reference where on the ride things need to be fixed.
