I gotta say I loved watching the video. It looks awesome watching the station and lift hill go up quickly. The music is a great choice and it worked in well with the video. But it was just fun watching everything pop up all over the place.

I was wondering when a time lapse video would pop up. Very cool indeed!

I didn't realize they are doing one.  That will be cool to see!

I am excited yet dissappointed to say that we got 2nd in the best new attraction of 2009.  Manta took the prize  :cussing:  What I dont understand is how we lost when we had the popular vote  :dunno:.
Oh well.  Does anybody know how we rank up overall, especially after coaster con?

WTF EVER! Stupid freaking Manta. It's not innovative or different in any way other than that the layout is not the same as S:UF. It's just another flying coaster. But everyone's smitten because of it's theming and location. That is so freaking stupid. I'm sure it's a great ride and everything, but Prowler is one of the best rides in the country, no questions asked.

I think Con really turned people on to Prowler and the deep midwest in general. SDC treated us really well and attendees discovered that WoF has some fantastic rides.

Well I was thinking better than Manta... Out of all the new coasters this one sparked the least interest in me...

Prowler just got labeled as "less intense than Evel" and as "the most family-friendly GCI" on TPR, which I think is very much untrue. Soon after, in regular TPR style, a member talked about how he or she is going to take their word for it that Prowler is not intense. So we should all band together and reverse than label right now. :DDD

That's always an impossible battle.  I've caught good rides on bad days and you'd have a hard time convincing me otherwise.

That's not my problem. I totally understand that, and I'm not mad at him for not liking it as much as he could have.
This is my problem:
Quote
Something I saw and HAD to comment on right away...the attraction rating..
CEDAR FAIR rated Prowler a FOUR.
Adventure Express is a FIVE, nearly everything is a five....so if Prowler is rated a four, then it's probably not like it's GCI brotherin (sic), haha.
I completely take your word that it's very family friendly, Erik!
That is completely effing ridiculous. This is what I want to reverse. Because the TR was posted by one of the in-crowd (who I'm sure is a very kind person), everyone laps up everything he says. And of course, as soon as I posted that I thought he most likely got Prowler on a bad day, I got yelled at for "calling him out."

How lovely, one of the BOFs on TPRevenue decided to dog our coaster because it is at a park in the middle of the US and not in LA.  Surprise.  Surprise.

I think the rating has to do more with heights, changes in direction, physical ability, functioning extremedies, that sort of thing, rather than how 'good' it is or how it stacks up to other rides not owned by the same company. If it goes upside down a bunch, probably going to be a five.

Family coaster doesn't mean a ton anyway, i've seen tons of kids on Dragster.

^The way he described it makes me 99% sure he got it on a slow day, which we all know Prowler has sometimes. But of course, I get my head bitten off for suggesting that maybe something is a little off, since you know I do have quite a lot more experience with Worlds of Fun and Prowler than the reviewer does, so I would know.

Considering that SDC calls ALL of their coasters "Family Coasters" - indeed.

Well, that was an unpleasant experience.
For all of you keeping score at home, I've now been screamed at by four (and a half) different members of TPR and been called a fanboy by three for trying to correct an error.

That's because you're not a member of thier BOF "Balls on Face"

You know if you had put something about black socks being cooler than white socks in your post, you'd have at least got Elissa's support.  You blew it by not making that in your first post on the topic.  :angel4:

GD I don't miss posting on that board.

Problem is, it's probably the best place for non-heated RCT discussion on the web.

^^I don't think that's true. Plenty of us don't like Timber Wolf (but those people are worthless scumbags) and I don't think any of us are particularly fond of Boomerang.

Ok I saw this group come in and I noticed that most of their rides were in the morning. This is obviously the slowest running time for the coaster because we didn't even have full trains when they were riding. Those of you that have rode Prowler without a full train know it's not quite the beast that it can be. They did however get a few more rides later in the day that were running faster, but not to the Prowler we all know and love. Had they rode it at night I don't think he would have made the "tame" comment. But he didn't ride at night so he was just going on his experience. When I first read the comments they surprised me but then I looked at the kind of rides the group experienced I felt his comments were somewhat justified.

And to steel I say way to defend what we know as a great ride

Thanks, it's nice to come here and get some support after being ganged up on and beaten down over there.
However, even in the morning, I don't think you can call Prowler tame. I had bruises from the seat belt after morning ERT at Con. They said that Evel Knievel was more intense. I'm sorry, Evel is a great ride and everything, but Prowler is just in a different league. I think that's what really got to me.
