Is Universal Buying Land Near Schlitterbahn?

I read on the Internet (so of course it's true) that Universal is paying a hefty price for land out near the Schlitterbahn site.  Has anyone else heard this?

I know that the likelihood of a Universal Park landing in KCK is a bit far fetched but it's the rumor romper room so I thought that I would throw it out there. ddr

A buddy of mine hangs out at www.phog.net and someone mentioned it in the Ape Room.

The fact that it's not on any coaster sites makes it one of the weaker rumors to come out in a while.

Yeah, I lurk quite a bit on phog.net too and I saw that rumor. I had to laugh when I read it.

As much as I wish it was true, that's probably not even remotely possible. Even more, I'm not sure if there's any land left around that area that would be a large enough lot or suitable for a park.

With all the speculation of parks in/near Kansas City, there will at least be a push for Cedar Fair to actually do something with WOF and OOF. WOF is getting a new coaster in 2009. So, if Universal or Disney buys any land (even for something relatively small) within 100 miles Cedar Fair would have to compete through WOF (means good things for anyone who lives near - like me).
