Still say VF would be better off with a new waterpark than a new big coaster.

I could see VF doing for Hydra what Patriot did for Talon.

Ooooh!  That's pretty sweet.  They'll probably get a great new ride in 2010. If they don't and it turns out to be 2011, bummer.

That flume totally kills the meeting space by the IMAX theater.  The only thing you can hear is the THWACK THWACK of the the anti-roll backs on the flume. BURN IT!

Hey those are some original rollbacks you're talkin about :(
I'm gonna be sad to see it go.
Although a new waterpark update here & there I don't mind. :)

It was confirmed by a bunch of employees today, the Flume is closing tomorrow. A lot more little electrical flags have appeared and the whole area is shrouded in marks, flags, and spots. Also, there's LOTS of haunt construction. Pics to come soon!

I personally think an Invert would be a mistake for the park.  They need a sit down looping coaster.  Floorless would be a handy marketing tool but that isn't important to me.  That park needs a steel coaster with some thrill.

IMO it's impossible for a B&M invert to ever be considered a mistake.  It would be like a GCI being a mistake.

It's steel, it loops and you sit down when riding it. :fart:

Yea, Yea,

But I think variety is very important for parks.  If a park built nothing but GCI's then it would get rather old to be riding the same type of ride all day.  Not that it wouldn't be fun but variety is the spice of life :)

Not that I wouldn't make the trip up to ride it or something.

Ultimately you are correct if it is a b&M it could hardly be a mistake.

I just think it's a shame they are expanding the current water park rather than starting over with better infastructure and a second gate.

I'm just glad they're doing something with it. 16 years is a hell of a long time for an expansion.

I love the log flume! Always my favorite ride in a park. I did NOT like the waterfall at the end of the tunnel however. I was already very cold, and the waterfall was just inappropriate. Valleyfair!'s log flume is one of the prettier ones I've seen, it's a real shame it has to go.

As for you naysayers ::tongue::

I love Log Flumes. Just didn't care for that one! I do however think they could have put a better and more impressive Slide Tower there instead of a Wave Pool. I don't know Wave Pools are big hits everywhere I have been though.

Does anyone see Flight Deck at CGA making VF its second home in the next few years?

CGA's future doen't appear to be bright at this point.  I was merely speculating that the park may close and its major attractions would be moved to other propeties within the Company.  VF is the only park in the chain without a B&M or full-circuit inverted roller coaster.
