Ah, Jason thinks I need to be punished because I shot a zinger at the News guy when he left himself open for a comment -- oh to the well.

IDK about the Chic-Fil-A.  We need one though

If they were adding a Chick-Fil-A it probably would have made it's way into one of the food blog posts. :hiding:

Yeah probably...
I just remember Chick-Fil-A was another speculation, along with all the guys dreaming about a bigger woodie, I mean a new wooden roller coaster  :icon_biggrin:

I don't think you could fit a very big woodie in that area  :speechless:

Perhaps it may be a new game?  Looks like that's where the Jacob's Ladder game was.

You might be right.  I can't actually picture the area though.  I'm not sure which direction the photo was taken from.  I'm directionally challenged on this one. :tard:

To me, it looks like the photographer's back would have been toward Detonator.

It is the location where Jacob's Ladder was -- between Detonator Games and Krazy Kars across the midway from Detonator's queue.

If I had to guess it is either just repaving or they are going to install the games cart that they inherited from GL.

Isn't that game the Gotham City Waterworks game(later Power City Waterworks)?  If it is it wouldn't make sense to put it in that location as it would be right next to Fire Fly.

That's one of them.  I was thinking they got more than one.  We'll just have to wait and see I guess.... oh the suspense!  What are they going to add to a slab of concrete that is neither a ride or a Chick-Fil-A. lol!!!

This is just me being selfish, but I honestly think that the park is really lacking a quality sit-down looper. Boomerang is too much of a "novelty/gimmic" coaster with the backwards motion to be considered the coaster that "fills" that need.

Either a Wildfire/Kumba style or even a floorless, but definitely by B&M as it can handle a larger PPH which always helps with ROI. I think that we should have enough chedda in the kittie again that we could go with something like that. If that was the case, then holding off two years with nothing but upgrades to the infrastructure will be worth it imho.

A lot of people like the sit down looper idea.

I'm indifferent to the idea.  Patriot fills my looping needs but I wouldn't be upset of something like Kumba showed up.

A launch coaster would be cool, sit down looper, and wood twister (this should lead to more high quality boner jokes) are all my realistic wish list.

I would also be more interested in another steel coaster, looper or launch.  I don't know about the total cost of maintaining a coaster over the years; but it seems that steel coasters have a longer life, and you aren't able to tell their age, as much as you can tell if a park is still running an old woodie.  (haha, old woodie)

Going off the general opinion of the maintenance crew at SDC (which BTW are all extremely awesome guys) they love how easy it is to maintain the "beemer" (as they call it) compared to their other coasters.  Oh and don't even ask them how well they like PowderKeg.  They love Stan Checketts, but PK is very tempormental.

I say go with a floorless as the closest one is in San Antonio -- that would be quite the novelty... just go with a better layout then Hydra.... think KRAKEN or KRYPTON COASTER

It would be great if the people that have an influence on the decision read these messages.

IMHO, they all sound better than an old woodie.  :hiding:(sorry, had to go there again.)

As much as I would love to have a Clair Hain masterpiece in my backyard, I would definitely give the edge to a floorless by B&M if I had the choice.

This just in: the new WOF Map is now online
http://www.worldsoffun.com/_upload/pdfs/wf08-120.pdf

The ever changing name store near the Tivoli Theatre is the new "Girls Only" shop.  Deja Vu is now a $5 and understore and Launchpad is a $10 and under store.  Not many other changes to mention, they do have the new MAMBA 10 yrs logo on the map as well as the 35 years logo, and they now mention which locations will take credit/debit which is nice.  Odd thing that they still have the Boomerang queue in the "old" format as it does not reflect the new queue change.

See anything else new (that is worth noting) go ahead and post it.

Once again I am just amazed how closely other peoples thoughts on this match mine for their coaster wants.  After I rode Kumba this fall my reaction was that WoF is missing this kind of staple sit down looping coaster.  I also agree that B&M floorless would fill that need and bring in the novelty seekers.  But going off of RCDB it seems like wood coasters cost half as much.  Course my dream coaster would be a flying coaster in Scandinavia called Valkyrie.  dancing_banana

Rumor has it that the new HAUNT this fall will be themed to a doll house, as in Chuckie.  Sounds like it should be interesting
