As nice as a new slide sounds, I highly doubt it's gonna happen for 2010.  That opportunity has come...and gone.

I'm guessing the parks that'll get Starlight trails next year will be WOF, Dorney, and KI.

I'm willing to bet that Starlight Trail will either be in the Congo Clearing or in Europa -- I'm hoping for Europa

I hope they rename it if it comes to WOF. Cause you can already get a "Starlight Experience" in Kansas City.

^You know when I first heard that the Starlight Experience might be coming to WOF, I thought of the same thing.  I sure did enjoy this season's shows out there.  Mamma Mia! was awesome.

Looking at the line-up for next year, I'm not overly excited for any of them...

Little House on the Prarie: the Musical
Dreamgirls
Beauty and the Beast
The Producers
Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles

Sorry if I sounded negative, I was just trying to be realistic.  I think we are more likely to get a makeover in Camp Snoopy before OOF gets anything.  They had the opportunity to add a new slide a few years back, and instead they got a "refurbishment".  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for improvements (even the kind that don't give ROI immediately), but I think that the "refurbishment" was kinda big let down for most people...I mean, who other than us really knew they complex got refurbished.

As far as a name goes...I agree, Starlight Experience is too sugary for me, and we already have enought "Starlight" in KC, how about the "Magical, Musical, Midway Adventure"...what...too many M's?

I'm actually kind of glad that they refurb'd Diamondhead.  They don't build slides like that anymore.  New slides aren't always better.

Hence the fun.  pure_evil

I feel like a skin (and hair) missle behind launched out of a submarine when I go down those slides.

While I am glad they refurb'd Diamondhead, I think that newer slides that have a higher capacity would have been a better use of the money

A new slide complex probably wouldn't have had better capacity unless all of the slides were shorter.

And it's hard to say that new slides would have been a better use of money without knowing how much was spent.

Could them heavily discounting all the Camp Snoopy stuff this fall have anything to do with them getting the Planet Snoopy Retheme?

I don't think so, I think it had more to do with the same reason Walmart, Toys R Us, etc. are all having or had big toy clearances....new compliance laws. I work in sales and some of my clients are having to get rid of all their items as well.

you have to be able to produce a certificate of compliance for any toy or clothing item designed for anyone under the age of 13. You know, making sure it wasn't made of lead, monkeys, etc...

I can understand having new standards for everything produced from a certain date on but having to get rid of everything and start over seems borderline ridiculous.

yeah, but what are they gonna do with it next season?  everything that required a certificate of compliance has to be sold by december 31 per the federal government.  might as well try and sell all of it and make as much money as possible than have it sit in a warehouse and take up space (not to mention, not make any money on it).  the manufacturer's won't take it back, so they really didn't have any other choice. (and really, all the scientific stuides are in-conclusive!)

I grabbed the photo and enhanced it the best I could. I couldn't make out those words you mentioned. I did notice that the Picture in the middle is of a Wooden Roller Coaster. (I couldn't tell which one but the rails are from a wooden roller coaster) The writing on the lower right is a couple of Phone Numbers on of those is WoF's and I couldn't quite make out the other one. The other writing on that paper with the phone numbers I couldn't make out. However those 2 highlighted papers on the right side are from a website which I couldn't make out the URL. There is a planner on the top of the picture. (Sorry can't make out the text there) The paper on the lower left. It appears to be a note from Cole about the Wofgames video to me anyway. The rest of the stuff I couldn't make out really. It's very hard to tell from 199x300 photo and I used filters on Infanview to blow it up 5 times the size.

I'm saying that it's crazy for the government to require massive sell off's from every company that has this kind of merchandise.  Everything manufactured after a certain date should have a new tag but having to sell current stock with deep discounts couldn't have been good for profit margins.

Welcome me back to the land of the living, the season is over! THANK GOD.

Honestly if we didn't get a new attraction next year I would not be suprised.  In fact I would be more shocking if we did.

What I am hoping will happen, if CF will open its pocket books a little, is some serious infrastructure work.  A new roof on Autobahn, some painting and maintaince on ELI, new concrete, etc.

(can you tell where I spent all my time this season?)

I hope to see some of you on December 5th, if not I will be out there on April 17th!  (I counted backwards on the opening day countdown... sad)This time as a platinum pass holder, and not a little trained minion in a red shirt.  (nothing against those who will have been, will be or are little trained minions)

oh no Jason, I completely agree with you.

I think a new Autobahn roof would be more exciting for me than anything else...can you imagine the possibilites?

But Jennifer, you were so cute as a little red-shirted minion...who is gonna go rouge on the train spiel now?

I don't care if Autobahn has a roof as long as I can smash my brothers in bumper cars. To be honest I've never really examined it. but at the same time I also had to look up what Eli is. I think I rode the train once this season cause there was nobody in line and i was right outside the station. They should not spiel during that train, just keep it quiet and let us enjoy the ride.

What's up the the roof on Autobahn?

I think it would be cool if they got new cars and expanded the course to make full use of the building.  Old European cars would be cool.

Nothing like having a leaking roof on a cold rainy day, or spending 1-2 hours mopping up water puddles on the autobahn floor....

enough said.

I would LOVE for them to use the full floor, I heard an inkling that they are bring back the center island too, that would be terrific, and also SAFER.

BTW I want to keep our old cars, has anyone tried any of the new bumper cars?  They stink! (i am specifically thinking about the ones at old Celebration City)  In this case older is better.

Jennifer

P.S. Thanks Nick, I feel loved!  :sunny:

A leaky roof certainly isn't good.

I agree that the newer cars stink.  I had forgotten how much bumper cars usually suck at other parks.  The current crop at WoF just don't look very good.  They could be mistaken for 1975 Gremlins with busted out headlights.

Brandon Says Krazy Kars is going Bye Bye for now and that Autobahn is moving up to that building so that they can use the Autobahn building for something else Details soon! That was on the new blog today. New Haunt?
