Halloween Haunt 2010--- WoF
« on: Jun 3, 2010, 02:09 »
With a little above 3 months till the haunting starts at WOF I think it is the perfect time to start talking about rumors or just stuff you wish they would get or get rid of.

I remember reading some where on here, cant remember the exact threads name, that someone said something about Camp getting switched to Cornstalkers and Dominion to switch to Terror London, are those rumor's still holding true?

I would to but after reading this article I'm liking the idea of having it outdoors

I won't be working it.

It should be mentioned that Brandon confirmed the switch from Camp to Corn Stalkers on Nile Island at Mayhem.

At first I wasn't too thrilled about a Cornstalkers in the woods but after seeing a picture from the blog I'm kinda excited to go through it this halloween

http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm

It almost looks like that picture is in a building, where would they have found room in the woods to build a building?

^Who said that photo was taken on Nile island?  It's appears that it was taken in the warehouse outside the park that Haunt props are stored in.

So the Octoberfest beers are slowly starting to appear and at the grocery store I was handed a coupon to the downtown houses.  The Halloween candy aisle is also up a running.

The recent heatwave has made me oblivious to the coming Halloween season.  It's nice to think about fall and the nice weather that it's going to bring with it.

I just hope they paved a path back there.  It got rather muddy as Camp

I like that they keep the haunts fresh.  Camp just seemed to be lacking something last year.

I hope they don't. A paved path in the middle of a corn field would seem very unrealistic, to me any ways.

I agree that paving the path in a "corn field" would not be a good idea.  But some sort of path improvement would be nice.  Maybe a truckload or two of quality mulch with something in place to keep the mulch on the "path" might work?

I was thinking the same.  Heck maybe even Rubber Mulch if they have the budget.

How about gravel?  Most farms I know of have gravel paths.

Depends on the size of the gravel and the depth. 3/4" or bigger you'll have issues with people twisting their ankles.  A thin layer of pea gravel compacted in after a heavy rain or a manual soaking could do wonders though.

I agree.  I just think that a permanent path needs to be built back there.  I don't think we'll have the issues that CAMP had back there of sometimes not knowing where to go, because the path was completely gone, with STALKERS, but something needs to be done if for no other reason than liability.

True, but if you have gravel in the middle of your corn field you would tear the snot out of your harvester.

Who said anything about it being in the "middle" of a cornfield?

From the first picture on the blog it had a shed full of dried out stalks, so I just assumed there was going to be a scene where the guest are in the middle of a corn field.

I say bring back the old camp site, it was perfect. It had paved pathways and all the trees you needed to feel as though you were in a "camp" which would work for a farm too.  Anyway I hear the attraction they put on that site stinks anyway... :)

I was searching around on Youtube for some haunt videos and found that the Asylum Island video had been muted :cussing:
Is there any plans to upload the video again with new audio?

It's a lot of work laying down a new sound track.  We might just start from scratch at some point.

That would be much appreciated and awesome at the same time!

Anyways Brandon posted some new behind the scene photos of Cornstalkers and I must say it looks like its going to be a real winner. And from the looks of the first photo they layed down hay in the middle of the corn field, hopefully that will be enough to keep the mud away.

Who else went last night?  What a crazy night.

Corn Stalkers was a big improvement over Camp IMO.  Asylum continues to the best Haunt IMO.  And I think that I'm still wet from all of the rain.  It was one of those visits that will stick in the memory for a while.

Haunt went on last night? Wow I bet that was one crazy night, did it hail there?

How long is Cornstalkers? Did they keep the original walk plan of Camp or did they spaced it out more?
Also how many buildings does Cornstalkers have in it?

Sorry I'm full of questions today  lol
