Definitely Nile Island

Makes sense to me.  Can't think of any other place in the park that would have such a well defined path with that many trees around it.

Now that I have seen the PoV for Sky Rocket at Kennywood, I really wouldn't mind one of those going in to Worlds of Fun. They are a perfect little coaster that young and old could go on.

I agree, that thing looks fun.

But I think that Ken12 made a good point.  We're probably not going to see a new coaster for a while.

Im still leaning towards the idea of an Intamin Twisted Impluse ride.

So it begins.  New box has arrived at WOF for "Snoopy's Birthday" -- to be "opened" August 8th

Where did you see this? At the park? Did you take any photos?

That was sort of my opinion too... I hope that we get some additional rides if that does happen.  I would love for a Junior Inverted to come our way and/or a Disko-Coaster.  Maybe they'll finally retheme the rides down by Wacky Worm to Snoopy as well.

Planet Snoopy certainly seems like a possiblity.  I personally prefer the relaxed, traditional atmoshpere of Camp Snoopy.  I am hoping it is a Snoopy on Ice show.

Would some updates to the area make it less relaxed?

It's certainly not a project that will get me excited but I'm sure it would be a hit with kids.

I don't know what 'traditional' atmosphere even means? I don't really think Tivoli has enough space for an ice show on stage. I hope its for a new kid or family ride.

It will be interesting to see if it's new rides or just an adjustment to the theme.

I still doubt that a coaster is involved.

I personally find Camp Snoopys to be more relaxed in that they have more lush landscaping, soft earth tone colors, and softer melodic music.
Planet Snoopys have extremely bright colors, uncoventional patterns and archetecture, less emphasis on landscaping (and shade), and loud fast paced music.  To me, all of these things add up and eventually become physcially draining.  I could stay in CP's Camp Snoopy much longer than Planet Snoopy.

I would image that crazy colors would be more enticing to the kids though.

I doubt that an overhaul of the area would include a reduction in shade or landscaping.

I would assume they will be overhauling a couple of the rides since some of them are old

I was just out there from 5pm to closing. Saw the lights and stuff, that was pretty nice. I never saw any funkyness like mass amounts of materials in the parking lots when I went on any tall rides, so no hints there. Like Jason I doubt we'll get a coaster.  (I wonder what the next coaster added in a few years will be, though...) It'd be nice to see Camp Snoopy improved... as long as the finished product is even better than it is now.

(I'd love a thrill ride or something though.)

Well perhaps we can get a breakdance or a disko coaster in the new upgrade.  We desperately need some of the newer flat rides that are out there.

Desperately need new flats ride?

That seems a little extreme.  I looked up the disco and I've been on one.  I can't image any park desperately needing one of those.  I've never been on a breakdance.

It seems like a kid area upgrade wouldn't include big kid thrill rides.

^We have a great collection of older flats, but the newest flat we have is a TopSpin.  We don't have a disko or frisbee or many of the other newer styles of flats out there.

You say that an upgrade wouldn't include big kid thrill rides, but then it is hard not to immediately think of Kings Island's kiddie area or several others around the chain that do have numerous big kid thrill rides in their areas as well.

If we get a new flat, I would rather have a screaming swing or a frisbee than a disko.

Agreed.

Again, I agree. I love those things.

I think maybe one of those Intamin Halfpipe things might be cool, but I've never ridden one, so if they suck I'd not know.  :dunno:

Maybe they will move Krazy Kars up to the rumoured Planet Snoopy and move Autobahn in its place, leaving a perfect spot for a screaming swing in the Europa section of the park. Sounds good right?

yeah i often look at wof with bing maps aerial view or google earth and think the three big expansion places that seem to stand out are between prowler and oceans, by patriot, and the bumper cars/surrounding small wooded area. when is the 40 year ann? 2011 or 2012? surely we'll get something good..

.. i mean bing birds eye view..

I love the one that I've been on (Mall of America).  They're a lot more fun that a disco IMO but probably a lot more.
