More updates.

We've got a new blog to keep an eye on.

http://schlitterblogkc.blogspot.com/

And a new webcam to stare at all day.

I notice the new press release only mentions 1 master blaster instead of 5.  Do you think they scaled back the project due to the economy or that more will be added in other phases?

Also if this is just phase 1 will we see cheaper tickets and then a good hike when it's completed?

You have a keen eye.  Those are two good questions and I'll try to get them answered for you.

I just assumed those would be included in the other phases.

They unveiled a new logo today.  I like it a lot more than the one they've been using.  The new one also resembles the existing park logos.

Here's a link to larger versions. http://www.schlitterbahn.com/news/logos/logo-kc.htm

I really like it. It's way more eye catching. A lot more appealing to youngsters like myself. =)

I'm guessing that a site redesign is in the works as well.  :dunno:

Well it sticks with the other traditional logos, but then adds in the trees which KC's park will be known for.  It's all good.

I'm sure that Wolfpack will quickly become a fav.  I've been on one of them and it was at Kalahari in the Dells.  It was awesome.  You could drive a truck down the tube. dancing_banana

I would still like to know what happened to the other 4 master blasters.  Are they gone? Or are they set for *future* phases?

Perhaps they'll go in the "retractable roof" section of the park that is coming in Phase 2

Originally it was stated that the entire water park was to be completed first, including the retractable part.  Phase one was just the water park while other phases were for shops hotels and other amenities.

Well they probably saw that as being unrealistic right now and decided to back-off on the plans.
I'll still go, but I'm a little disappointed that the ENTIRE park won't be done for year 1 like they were promoting at the start.

I was curious about the slides that they purchased from the Geauga Lake auction.

Here's what will now be Wolfpack, Black Knight and Bahnzai Pipeline.

Tame for sure, but all water parks need those to go along with the big crazy stuff.

Is there no longer a Water Park at GL either?

GL's water park used to be crammed in on the ride side.  The new stuff on the other side of the lake is still there and ready for summer.

It looks like you were right on the money.  They addressed this in the comments on the blog.

Just for future reference: Der Bahn has to be one of the crappiest names ever. Basically "The Train" in English. "Bahn" is hardly even a standalone word in German. Even if people don't understand what it means, it doesn't actually roll off the tongue (also, it has nothing to do with horses).
...and the clocks were striking thirteen.
