On our way to catch a movie yesterday the wife and I took a detour to the Schlitterbahn site.

I'll try to get back over there with a camera once the snow is gone but I will say that a lot of things have changed. More demolition has taken place, there are markers all over the place and new roads seem to be underway.

Bump!!!!

Well, I just went by the Schlitterbahn Site and there has been alot more land clearing just this past week alone. The trees have now been removed from the lot on the opposite side of 98th Street (which is now closed between France Family Drive to Nebraska Ave (the sign stats State Ave but with the Free Mason Local still operating there on Nebraska Ave you can still access this spot.) from the old WYCO Fairgrounds. The recent land moving can be very well seen from I-435 as it goes right up to it. There's has also been some land movement between the Fairgrounds and the old Courthouse Annex. I wish I have time to take pictures of this area today but I have a bunch of things to do today. Maybe soon or one of you guys can come out and take some pictures.

We were out at Legends last weekend and honestly it just looks like a bunch of dirt being moved -- not that overly exciting imho

I dig (get it) the parking lot updates I just don't see how a park being built from the ground up isn't as interesting.

I think dirt is dirt... whether it's moving at WOF for an unknown project at this time, a parking lot (which is not really exciting, even when complete, imho), or a new water park that is being built.

Some people just seem to get more excited about Missouri dirt vs. Kansas dirt.

Because for one thing you can tell that there has been a lot of progress made on the parking lots down by SDC, and for another thing, the whole update is not JUST dirt being moved around.

It seems to me they would have a hard time having it up and running by May considering the only progress they've really made so far seems to be moving dirt around. But they are still on schedule, so we will see...

Also interesting is that Schlitterbahn just bought a swinging ship, scrambler and slide complex from the Geauga Lake auction just yesterday. Interesting.

I thought that the purchase was kind of strange. People at the auction seemed certain that it was all KCK bound.

It's been a while since I drove by the site with a camera.

A lot has happened but nothing to exciting yet. The site has grown quite a bit and a lot of pipe has been laid.

2nd dirt moving army.

Original dirt moving army. It's much larger than it was 7 months ago. In the full size image you can see pipes sticking up out of the ground. I'm guessing that they're water.

This road is closed but you can see the beginnings of a new road that skirts along the western edge of the property.

Western edge along 435. This tripled the size of the site.

I drove by there today, and it was the first time the excavating really stood out to me while on 435...I'm still hoping physical construction starts soon though.
